BELNET Security Conference 2010 - 6th May 2010 - Brussels

Call for presentations

The second BELNET Security Conference will be held in Hotel Thon in Brussels on May 6th. The theme this year is "Communication, collaboration and co-operation in Security". This announcement also serves as Call for Presentations. We are interested in talks that fit the theme of course, but even more so that present practical issues you had to deal with, and how you dealt with them.
 
The goal of the conference is to give a technical-savvy audience information that they could adapt and apply back home. The talks can be of technical nature, but not necessarily: you can also provide insight in specific areas, attract peoples' attention on specific problems, etc.

The conference

Security on the Internet is one of BELNET's highest priorities. Almost five years ago we took a first step in offering security solutions to our customers by creating the BELNET Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). With the BELNET Security Conference, BELNET now intends to better inform its customers and users concerning security on the Internet.

Sharing expertise

BELNET after all has extensive expertise at its disposal in the area of Internet security. Moreover, with the expansion of its security services, BELNET wishes to raise awareness on the part of the user community with respect to security. Thus, the first BELNET Security Conference (BSC) will take place on Thursday 6 May 2009 at Hotel Thon in Brussels.

For whom?

The target audience consists principally of BELNET customers, but the conference is also open to other interested parties.

What?

The programme for the 1-day conference consists of presentations and keynotes in the morning and afternoon. The presentations will address diverse security issues and trends. Among others practical safety tips, solutions and services will be treated. The presentations will be given in English. BELNET will provide a walking dinner for lunch and a cocktail in the early evening. The complete programme will be online soon here.
